Product Information

Ranger® HDC MR Cooled

The FLIR Ranger® HDC MR Cooled is a high-definition mid-range surveillance solution designed to meet the mission-critical needs of border security, coastal monitoring, and force protection. Featuring a 1280 × 720 cooled Indium Antimonide (InSb) thermal imager and a full HD 1920 × 1080 visible camera, the system delivers reliable target detection, identification, and classification across a wide range of environmental conditions.

Engineered to excel in challenging scenarios, the HDC MR Cooled includes powerful thermal optics with >12× optical zoom and seamless 16× digital zoom, enabling wide-area coverage and pinpoint accuracy. The integrated FLIR image processing engine enhances clarity with Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE), histogram equalization, and electronic image stabilization—especially valuable for discerning true threats through fog, haze, and thermal turbulence.

Designed for dynamic threat environments, the rugged PTZ platform provides full 360° pan and -35° to +90° tilt with speeds up to 120°/second. Optional add-ons such as a Laser Range Finder, GPS, and Digital Magnetic Compass enable rapid geo-location and coordinated response. Whether deployed as a fixed installation or mobile unit, the Ranger HDC MR Cooled is an indispensable tool for reliable, all-weather mid-range surveillance.

Ranger® HDC MR

Cooled HD Thermal Imaging for Superior Clarity

The system’s 1280 × 720 cooled MWIR sensor offers crisp thermal detail across wide and narrow fields of view. Its cooled design ensures superior sensitivity and image quality at mid-range distances, even in complex thermal environments.

Precision Optics and Tracking Across Any Terrain

With >12× optical and 16× digital thermal zoom, plus a visible camera capable of 30× optical zoom, operators can zoom from wide-area views to fine details like human movement or license plates. Autofocus and manual modes ensure adaptability in real time.

Built for Harsh Weather and Mission-Critical Speed

Designed to withstand fog, haze, and turbulent air, the system includes an optional Merlin ASX filter for enhanced visibility. Its pan/tilt accuracy (±0.5 mrad) and 120°/s speed make it ideal for radar cueing, auto-tracking, and responsive threat engagement.

Modular and Ready for Integrated Defense

The HDC MR Cooled supports seamless VMS integration with HD-SDI and H.264 streaming. Optional features like LRF, GPS, and compass expand capabilities for geo-location, counter-UAS, and force coordination, making it suitable for both static and mobile deployments.
