The FLIR Ranger® R6SS is a compact, man-portable mid-range radar designed to deliver 360° ground surveillance with unmatched scanning speed and situational accuracy. Detecting personnel, vehicles, and light threats at ranges up to 15 km, it provides consistent, high-precision tracking across the perimeter—even in remote or mobile deployments.

Its ±45° scan sector supports fast electronic beamforming at up to 4 Hz per panel, or full 360° perimeter coverage when deployed with an optional pan/tilt unit. With a refresh rate four times per second and simultaneous tracking of up to 512 targets, the R6SS supports real-time coverage across open terrain, urban zones, or complex security environments.

With built-in GPS and a digital compass, the radar self-aligns for rapid deployment and seamless integration into command and control networks. Its low false alarm rate and high-resolution targeting allow for confident threat classification and automatic cueing of EO/IR sensors and countermeasure systems.

Weighing just over 23 lbs and consuming only 85 W of power, the Ranger R6SS fits in a soldier’s backpack, requires just one cable and four bolts to mount, and meets military standards for durability in extreme conditions.
