Product Information

Ranger® HDC MS

The FLIR Ranger® HDC MS is a high-performance, multisensor surveillance system built for long-range, all-weather operation in the most demanding security environments. Designed to deliver high-definition clarity in both thermal and visible spectrums, it combines a 1280 × 720 cooled MWIR thermal imager with a powerful suite of HD visible-light cameras.

The system supports optical zooms of up to 60×—and up to 120× with a 2× extender—along with fine field-of-view control ranging from ultra-wide (31.5°) to ultra-narrow (0.19°). Its long-range capabilities allow users to detect, classify, and track threats at distances beyond 15 kilometers, making it an essential asset for border security, coastal monitoring, and critical infrastructure defense.

Integrated options like the Merlin ASX turbulence filter and fog filtering technology help maintain visual integrity through harsh atmospheric conditions. Combined with advanced targeting precision, fast and smooth PTZ movement, and optional modules such as GPS, laser rangefinder, and compass, the Ranger HDC MS provides unmatched versatility and accuracy for 24/7 operations.

Whether mounted on a fixed tower, mobile platform, or vehicle, this system is optimized for rapid threat response, seamless VMS integration, and multisensor coordination across complex operational theaters.

Ranger® HDC MS

Multisensor HD Imaging with Exceptional Range

The Ranger HDC MS brings together a high-resolution 1280 × 720 cooled MWIR thermal imager and multiple HD visible-light camera options, offering the flexibility to operate across different distances and lighting conditions. Whether identifying objects in broad daylight or detecting heat signatures in total darkness, the system ensures clarity and control over any mission-critical scene.

Precision Optics for Critical Surveillance

Equipped with powerful continuous zoom telescopes—22× optical and 16× digital on the thermal channel, and up to 120× optical on the visible channel—the system allows users to shift from wide-area situational awareness to detailed target inspection with ease. Field-of-view options ranging from 30° down to 0.19° enable operators to adjust quickly to changing scenarios and threat distances.

Built for Harsh Environments and Real-World Threats

The system’s integrated fog filter and optional Merlin ASX turbulence correction maintain visual performance in degraded atmospheric conditions. Its rugged pan/tilt unit offers 360° continuous rotation and fast, precise movement, enabling radar-based slew-to-cue functionality and quick response to detected threats.

Modular Platform with Advanced Integration

The HDC MS supports a suite of optional features including laser range finding, GPS, and digital magnetic compass for geo-spatial awareness and targeting. With HD-SDI and H.264 output, RS-485 and Ethernet control, and onboard electronic image stabilization and auto-tracking, it integrates seamlessly into modern command-and-control systems and multi-sensor defense networks.
