Product Information

Ranger® HRC-MS

The FLIR Ranger® HRC-MS is a long-range, multi-sensor surveillance system engineered for precise threat detection and identification across large perimeters, coastal zones, and high-value infrastructure. Designed around a cooled MWIR detector—offered in multiple lens configurations—the system delivers high-resolution thermal imagery capable of identifying a man-sized target beyond 10 km and vehicles at over 20 km.

Featuring 12.5× continuous optical zoom and up to 16× digital zoom, the Ranger HRC-MS provides fluid transitions across field-of-view presets. Paired with a powerful HD visible-light camera, the system offers detailed visual tracking through extreme ranges, whether using analog outputs or optional digital HD video over IP.

Built to withstand harsh deployments, the HRC-MS meets MIL-STD-810 and IP65 standards, operating in extreme heat, cold, sand, humidity, or vibration-prone conditions. Optional modules—including GPS, laser rangefinder, and digital compass—enable accurate geo-location and target designation. Available auto-tracking and electronic stabilization ensure persistent surveillance, even under shifting conditions or on mobile platforms.

With flexible configuration options, precision pan/tilt mechanics, and intelligent processing features like tunable DDE, the Ranger HRC-MS integrates seamlessly into modern security ecosystems for mission-critical situational awareness.

Ranger® HRC-MS

High-Sensitivity Thermal Imaging for Long-Range Detection

Built around a cooled MWIR sensor (640 × 512 or 640 × 480), the Ranger HRC-MS captures thermal data with unmatched clarity. With sensitivity down to 25 mK and tunable Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE), the system detects targets through fog, rain, and heat distortion—maintaining image integrity across distances exceeding 20 km for vehicle-sized threats.

Extended Zoom and HD Visual Identification

The HRC-MS offers a wide selection of optical packages, with up to 120× visible zoom using a 2× extender and 16× digital zoom. Multiple camera modules—ranging from NTSC CCDs to full HD 1080p CMOS sensors—support mission flexibility, enabling fine-grain target identification in daylight or low-light operations.

Precision Pan/Tilt and Geo-Location Capabilities

With 360° continuous pan, ±35° tilt, and movement speeds up to 65°/sec, the system enables fast, responsive coverage of large areas. Its 1 mrad accuracy and 0.1 mrad resolution ensure reliable tracking, while optional GPS, digital compass, and laser rangefinder modules provide precise geo-referencing for coordinated response or cueing.

Rugged Design for Harsh and Remote Environments

Tested to MIL-STD-810F and rated IP65, the HRC-MS resists environmental threats including dust, rain, ice, vibration, and extreme temperatures. It features optional window defrosting, programmable scene presets, and redundant video outputs—ensuring operational continuity for fixed-site defense, border monitoring, or mobile field deployments.
